Insomnia and Defrosting the Freezer

I could not fall asleep last night.  I had not taken a nap during the day and yet, at 3...4...5 am, I was wide awake.  I was actually on an adrenaline high.  You see, I had begun to imagine the life that I alway picture for myself in the quiet times when there is no one else but me and God.  For the first time in a long time, that life seemed tangible, palpitable...real!  I realized that I was in a place in my life where I was ready to take the risks necessary to make the vision materialize.  The first step for me is making room.  I remember, the first time I helped my Grandmother defrost her freezer.  At first, I was confused because I couldn't understand why she was intentionally taking all of the frozen food out of the freezer, when she reminded me daily not to keep opening the freezer door because the food would go bad. (LOL)  As we took things out of the freezer, my grandmother would make three areas: things that go back in the freezer, things to be used soon, and things to be discarded because they had been in the freezer too long.  When we were finished, we could once again tell, what we had and what we needed.... and for what we need...there was space to hold it.  God began to speak to me about taking inventory of my life.  It is time for me to defrost the freezer of my life and figure out what goes back in for preservation, things that need to be used because they are about to expire or things that need to be discarded because I had allowed them to sit hidden, past their prime...no longer good for the purpose in which I held on to them....taking up space.  I'm defrosting my freezer and making room for the life that God intends for me!

Love Letter For You

There is something about putting your feelings for someone in words.  Words are powerful and written words are concrete.  Words have the power to create, to edify, to justify.  I have a friend who writes amazing Poetry/Prose/Spoken Word/Music.  A few days ago, he posted a piece about beauty that was inspired by a former coworker.  It was breathtaking.  I remember saying...Wow, I want to be the muse that inspires someone to feel that way... to put their feelings for, towards or about me in words.  That, I think, would be in the top 5 of my ultimate gifts list. (LOL).  As I meditated on this, God spoke to my Spirit...in that small still voice that has become so loud....He assured me that he is preparing one who will love me, see me and treat me as he does.  He told me in the meantime, to continue to bask in the glory of his love.  You see, we throw that word around so loosely. Some of us have come to accept the watered down, materialistic, superficial definition that society has presented... Real love whether Agape or Eros, should mirror God's love for us.  As I continued to listen, I was reassured that "earthly love" was being prepared for me and those words would come.  Then, I was reminded that a love letter has been written to me.  One that would help me to measure the weight of that to come.  It is the type of letter that you fold after reading and tuck in a safe place, knowing that you will come back to it again and again.  Incidentally, this letter has your name on it as well. God sees you searching... he said ..... go ahead...unfold .....read my love letter for you.

My Child You may not know me, but I know everything about you. (Psalm 139:1)
I know when you sit down and when you rise up. (Psalm 139:2)

His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you. (1 John 4:10)
I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love. (Romans 8:31-32)
If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. (1 John 2:23)
And nothing will ever separate you from my love again. (Romans 8:38-39)
Come home and I'll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen. (Luke 15:7)
I have always been Father, and will always be Father. (Ephesians 3:14-15)

My Prayer In This Moment

Lord ~
I thank you for your grace that is never failing.  You have truly been a keeper today.  Lord, in the midst of confusion around me, help me to be quick to listen and slow to speak, both in the spirit and in the physical. I know there is purpose in the things that you are having me to do and say.  Lord, help me to be obedient to your leading.  I know that I have free will but Lord, Thy will be done.  I am a willing vessel.  Keep reminding me Lord that every moment of my life is not only mine but impacts those around me.  Even in the fleeting seconds of the day, help me to remain consistent and unwaivering.  Help me to refrain from the urge to prove myself, knowing that no matter the interpretation or the perception, I am who you say I am and through you I am justified.  Engulf me with the peace that surpasses all understanding.  Allow me to set the atmosphere to one of positivity and possibilities...and to change the situations around me to ones that edify all in the midst.  Lord, so many things in my life are shifting and changing now.  I am not sure where the path is leading but I am following the Spirit and trusting that I will without fail reach the promises that you have shown me.  Bless those around me Lord.  Meet every need, physical and spiritual.  Speak clearly to those who are longing to hear your voice and to those who want to believe...who used to believe but have been turned away by hurt and circumstance.  Give them peace and show yourself strong in their life so that there can be no doubt that your word is true...You will never leave us or forsake us.  Lord, again, I thank you for your Grace. You bless me every minute of everyday.  Allow that to be my dominate thought.  Allow that to be the thoughts of those that you move to read this prayer.  Breathe new life into them and their situation Lord.  Restore them, fill their lives with true love and genuine people who will remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made with purpose and power...people who will encourage them to become better and make their beautiful mark on the world around them.  Lead us all to lay our burdens at your feet this night and rest easy knowing that you have heard our prayers and you are faithful to answer them.  ~ AMEN!

This is an untitled piece that came to me as I was letting go of some things in my past in order to move forward without fear into the future relationship that God is preparing for me!  Don't settle for good enough in your relationships.  Either make the choice to make your current relationship "Glorious" or release each other to find that glory. Our relationship with our mates should reflect God's love toward us...  It should bring out the best in us and inspire us to be better! Evaluate and Evolve.  Happiness is waiting!

You hummed the tune claiming that it was your favorite but replaced the lyrics with what you Thought was right ….

So….

The song that you swayed to had the right beat but ceased to be me

And now you wonder why our duet became solos….

It’s because I have taken my sheet music in search of one who will take the time to learn and appreciate the composition… who will play my rhythm with passion by sight and by ear.

Independence Day

I truly enjoyed my Independence Day Weekend.  I took the opportunity to REST!  I not only rested physically but spiritually I (R)eleased (E)very (S)tressful (T)hing.  That is what true independence is.  Having peace no matter what the circumstance...being able to LIVE your life consistently, freely and with joy in the face of people, places, things or circumstances that try to hold or constrain you.   I have declared my life a "Drama/Negativity Free Zone" and am adopting an attitude of gratitude.  From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.  The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat it's fruit. (Proverbs 18:20-21).  I choose to speak life into every situation...mine and those around me.  I will sow positive words, thoughts and energy so that the harvest will be one of beauty, bounty and abundance. What a wonderful world this would be if we all chose to do the same.  Choose/speak life and rest easy beautiful people.
